How we earn revenue
The Tropical Pet is a free resource for pet owners in tropical Asia. To support the cost of running the site and producing free guides, we participate in affiliate programmes with companies and services we believe may be useful to readers.

Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase or sign up for a service, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. The price you pay is the same whether you use our link or visit the provider directly.
Affiliate links may appear in articles, comparison tables, buttons, or other content formats across the site. Not every affiliate link is individually labelled in every case.
Editorial independence
Affiliate relationships do not influence our editorial opinions, rankings, or recommendations. We aim to recommend products and services based on our own research and assessment of what may genuinely help pets and their owners.
We do not recommend a product or service solely because it pays a commission. If a category genuinely doesn't have evidence behind it — many “immune support” supplements, for example — the guide says so, even where commission dollars exist.
How we write
Every guide is general information, not veterinary advice. We explicitly defer to your vet on anything specific to your pet. Our guides are written to help you have better conversations in the consulting room, not to replace them.
Where we make claims about supplement evidence, we try to reflect the published literature accurately, including where evidence is weak or contested. We don't ghostwrite for brands. We don't accept payment for favourable reviews. We do change our guides when we get something wrong — if you spot one, please email us.
